How long does a visit to the Beatles Story take?
We want you to enjoy the whole Beatles Story experience, take an hour or spread your visit over two days the choice is yours.
We recommend...
- Up to 2 hours for the main exhibition
- 30mins fun in the Discovery Zone
- 1 hour for lunch or coffee in Starbucks
- 5min shuttle bus or 10 min walk to Pier Head
- 20mins to experience the magical Fab4D
- 1 hour for Special exhibition at Pier Head
- 30 minutes to browse the Fab4Store
What languages are available on the audio guides?
We have 8 languages available on audio, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Polish.
Do I need to book my ticket in advance?
No, you do not need to book in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the admissions desk at the entrance of the Beatles Story Albert Dock and Pier Head.
However, if you are coming in a large group (10+) you must book in advance. Email our groups booking officer for availability and rates on groups@beatlesstory.com

Do you offer student discount?
Yes we offer student discount on presentation of your student ID card. This is our concessionary rate.
Is the Beatles Story Accessible?
Yes, the Beatles Story is very accessible.

Do carers get in free of charge?
Yes, carers get in free of charge with a production of ID.
Where does the shuttle bus leave from and is it free?
The C1 shuttle bus leaves from the bus stop on Gower Street where the Yellow Duck marine departs. It is included in your Beatles Story ticket.
Is the Beatles Story entertaining for kids?
The Beatles Story now features on the national curriculum so the Beatles Story provides an educational yet day out for all the family. We have a Discovery Zone with regular workshops and fun interactive activities.
Also on our new site at the Pier Head a must for families is the Fab4D experience, a groovy trip through the music of the Beatles using 3D computer generated animation and special effects!
Is it possible to take photographs inside the exhibition?
Yes, you are allowed to take photographs inside the exhibition, however it is not permitted in certain areas where notices will be on display informing guests.
How long has the Beatles Story existed for?
The Beatles Story first opened in May 1990. In 2010 we will are celebrating our 20th anniversary.
Where is Abbey Road?
Abbey Road is in North London, not in Liverpool.
Is the grand piano really John Lennon's?
Unfortunately the piano in the Beatles Story is not originally John Lennon's. However, we previously had an upright piano that belonged to John Lennon, which he wrote ‘Imagine' on, but this was sold to George Michael in 2000.
Is there parking?
There is no parking at the Beatles Story; however parking is available at the Albert Dock opposite our main entrance. There is also parking available at the Liverpool Echo Arena and the nearest parking to the Beatles Story Pier Head is in Liverpool One.
Do the Beatles have anything to do with the Beatles Story?
The Beatles Story is owned by Merseytravel, the public transport governing body for Merseyside. The remaining Beatles are aware that our visitor attraction exists, but do not endorse it in anyway. We have extensive links to the Beatles industry and many of the Beatles friends and family who give its continued support.
Is there space for coach parking?
There are coach drop-off and pick-up points located on Gower Street, outside the Beatles Story. Coach parking is located on Kings Dock, behind the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool.
Where and what is the Magical Mystery Tour?
The Magical Mystery Tour is not part of the Beatles Story.
The 1 hour 45 minute tour takes you on a journey to visit many of the places associated with John, Paul, George and Ringo. This can be booked through Cavern City Tours on 0151 236-9091.

How long should I plan for a group visit?
Visits to the Beatles Story can take from 40 minutes up to a full day to experience everything we have to offer. Trips can be tailored to suit your needs, please see the itineraries section for sample trips and times.
Do you offer guided tours?
A complimentary living history audio guide accompanies the Beatles Story exhibition. Specialist guided tours can be arranged for groups upon request.
Do you have first aid facilities?
A qualified first aid representative and fire marshall is on site at all times. A full risk assessment is available on request.
Do you have any catering on site?
The Beatles Story includes a Starbucks Coffeehouse and relaxation area. The replica Cavern Club inside the attraction is also available for private hire if you wish to hold a special event.
At the Pier Head, you'll also find a café and a restaurant on the top floor.
In addition to the Beatles Story itself there are a number of bars, restaurants and cafes on the Albert Dock to suit all budgets.
What else can we do in Liverpool?
We recommend visiting one of Merseytravel's other attractions, including Spaceport, U-Boat Story, Mersey Tunnel Tour or a trip on the world famous Mersey Ferry - see ‘Our Family of Attractions' section.

How do I get from one site to another?
There are two options. If it is a nice day, why not take a 10 minute stroll from one site to another.Alternatively you can catch the C1 shuttle bus, which takes you from Gower Street in the Albert Dock over to Pier Head and back again. This bus journey is included in your Beatles story ticket.
