Liverpool’s impressive waterfront is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stretching all the way from Albert Dock, home to many of the city’s museums and galleries and the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the UK, through The Pier Head to Stanley Dock, this area is well worth discovering.
Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City was granted World Heritage Site status in 2004. You can visit each of the six areas that make up the World Heritage Site – Pier Head, Albert Dock, Stanley Dock, Ropewalks, the Commercial Quarter and the Cultural Quarter and track Liverpool’s maritime history as one of the most important ports in Britain.
