To celebrate Armed Forces Day 2017, The Beatles Story will be displaying a set of four military jackets, redesigned by fashion students from Cheshire College and the University of Chester.
The jackets are winning entries of an Army Surplus Sewing Bee where students were given full creative license to create whatever they wanted with the jackets. The finished projects have incorporated a number of Regiment specific designs including oak leaves, symbol of the Cheshire Regiment, as well as poppies, poetry and medals.
The exhibition, which has previously been on display at the Cheshire Military Museum will not only feature the work of these students, but also explain the inspiration behind each jacket.
This project has allowed students to explore the history of the Regiment, whilst creating an exciting new display for the Military Museum and establishing links within the local Cheshire community.
The display will open on Saturday 24 June in the Fab4 Cafe, Albert Dock for two days only. Tickets are not required. The Beatles Story also offers 20% discount to all Armed Forces personnel who wish to visit the main attraction, identification required.
