A Grade II listed building worthy of a visit for its stunning architecture, Liverpool College of Art also has an important part to play in the story of the Beatles. This is where John Lennon met Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bass player in the Beatles. Stuart was still with the band during the early days in Hamburg but left to study art in the German city in 1961. It’s also where John Lennon met Cynthia Powell, whom he married in 1962.
