'For George' exhibition opens in Liverpool
An exhibition to celebrate George Harrison’s 70th birthday entitled 'For George' has been opened in Liverpool town center as a tribute to The Beatles’ youngest member.
The exhibition is held at The Liverpool Academy of Arts and features the work of five talented Merseyside artists John Chatterton, Len Ehlen, Granelli, Simon Pritchard and Denise Theophilu, each artist is individually passionate about George and each have used this opportunity to portray their own interpretation of George, his life and also his music.
The exhibition was opened by Radio Merseyside’s Spencer Leigh on the 25th of February to a crowd of VIP’s and the addition the Hari Krisha movement, a large part of George’s life, were preparing traditional food and Ian Clarke, Liverpool’s finest independent Wine and Spirits Professional provided some samples of excellent wine for the guests to taste. The launch event was both a celebration of George’s life and a starting marker for the 2 week exhibition.
The exhibition is filled with over 30 pieces of work ranging from paintings, to cartoons, sculptures all the way to custom guitars in tribute to George.
