The Big Draw comes to an end at the Beatles Story
2013 was our third year taking part in The Big Draw and this year the reception of our involvement was brilliant. For the first year our Big Draw activities left our exhibition and made their way on to our Facebook page and our Twitter feed.
We asked our 140,000 Facebook fans and Twitter followers to send us their Beatles inspired drawings and our five favourites would win a prize. We received an astonishing amount of entries. Once the competition closed on the 28th November we managed to pick 35 entries, put them together as a single image and asked our social media followers to vote for their favourites.
These were our Facebook and Twitter fans' five favourites in no particular order:
Rodolfo Anzaldua Mercado
Each winner will receive a rare book from Paul McCartney's exhibition entitled 'The Art of Paul McCartney', a Big Draw poster featuring the 35 short-listed entries into our competition as well as a family ticket to our exhibition. We've contacted each winner via the channel that they submitted their drawing.
We also had some Big Draw activity in our exhibition. We asked people who came through our Discovery Zone to draw on a roll of paper and once the paper was full, we'd simply roll more out. The finished piece of art was over 15ft (4.5m) long.
We'd like to thank everybody that took part in our activities for The Big Draw 2013 both online and in our exhibition.
