xPaul McCartney’s Childhood Home
Travel back to a time when John and Paul were young and visit their childhood homes. The unassuming houses – John’s home, Mendips, on Menlove Avenue and Paul’s terraced house at 20 Forthlin Road – are both owned by the National Trust and open to the public between March and October. You can also go to George’s and Ringo’s childhood homes at Arnold Grove and Admiral Grove, but as these are private houses you can’t tour the inside. Instead, you’ll just have to imagine what Ringo’s 21st birthday party at Admiral Grove was like – apparently a star-studded guest list, including Cilla Black and Gerry and the Pacemakers – turned up to celebrate at the small terraced house.
