White Feather
Our stunning special exhibitions space in the Beatles Story Pier Head will host a range of bespoke exhibitions throughout the year. Our current exhibition is the emotive White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon, which has been extended to the end of December 2010.
This intimate exhibition tells the personal story of the Lennon family, presented as an exclusive exhibition for the first time. It gives a unique insight into life with john, that only Julian, his son and Cynthia his first wife can give.
Julian and Cynthia recollect the experiences, emotions and memories of thier lives with John throughout the exhibition, illustrating the story with personal interviews, family photos and the Lennon's unseen collection of memorabilia.
"Growing up as John Lennon's son has been a rocky path. He was a great talent, a remarkable man who stood for love and peace in the world, but to me he was the father I loved and longed for in his many absences. Mum was his first love - she was the one who held us together through it all."
I started collecting these personal pieces because I felt they belonged back in our family. This collection represents something of great importance to me, as it is part of our history."
- Julian
"John was an extraordinary man - infuriating, lovable, sometimes cruel, witty, talented and needy. I have always loved him and never stopped grieving for him. That's why I want to tell the story of the John I knew. He believed in the truth and would want nothing less"
- Cynthia
White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon is open seven days a week, all year round (excluding 25th/26th December). Admission to White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon is included in the Beatles Story admission price.
