How To Get Here

Getting to the Beatles Story Albert Dock and Pier Head...

On foot: From Liverpool city centre, follow the signs for the Albert Dock, where you'll find our first site - alternatively follow signs for the Liver Buildings and you'll find Beatles Story Pier Head in front of the Liver Building.

Merseyrail: The nearest Merseyrail stations to the Beatles Story Albert Dock and Pier Head are James Street Station (on the Wirral line), which is approximately a five-to-ten minutes walk, and Moorfields (on the Northern Line), approximately a ten-to-15 minute walk via Dale Street and Water Street. For more details about all local bus, rail and ferry services ring Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 or log on to www.merseytravel.gov.uk.

Mainline rail:
From the South... Virgin Trains operates direct services on an hourly basis from London to Liverpool Lime Street (approximately two hours' journey time). The Beatles Story Albert Dock is a 15-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station or a short taxi ride.

From the North... There are regular services to Liverpool Lime Street from Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

By car:
From the South... Follow the M6 north to junction 21A, turning left onto the M62 in the direction of Liverpool. At the end of the M62 (the Rocket) follow signs for the city centre until you pick up signs for the Albert Dock.

From the North... Take the M6 to junction 26 and then follow signs for the M58 motorway to Liverpool. Continue to the end of the motorway, where you follow signs for the A59 to Liverpool. Follow A59 City Centre until you pick up signs for the Albert Dock. This takes you off the A59 onto the A5053, heading for the Albert Dock.

Parking: Ample parking is available at Liverpool ONE (entrance on the Strand), which is the closest secure cark park to the Beatles Story Pier Head. Further parking is available at ACC Liverpool's car park on Kings Dock, adjacent to the Beatles Story Albert Dock, and a surface-level open-air car park is also available at the Albert Dock.

By air: Liverpool John Lennon Airport is 30 minutes from the city centre by car or taxi. The Arriva Airlink 500 bus service operates a circular route from the airport to Liverpool city centre, running every 30 minutes, Monday to Sunday, at 15 and 45 minutes past each hour between 06:45 - 23:45; it drops passengers off both outside the Ibis on the Strand and at Paradise Street bus station, opposite the Albert Dock.
