Following his appearance at the Merseyside derby last night, retired Dutch footballer, Johnny Heitinga, enjoyed a tour around the award-winning Albert Dock attraction today.
Despite the Blues’ disappointing result against notorious rival, Liverpool FC, Heitinga was happy to be there supporting his ex-club.
“Once a Blue, always a Blue”
After a five-year spell at Everton FC, Liverpool is clearly a city close to his heart.
A tour around the exhibition gave Johnny an insight into the musical history of Liverpool, and moreover, a glimpse of how the band shaped British history. As a Beatles fan, he was excited to learn all about the Liverpool lads and their spiral into fame.
The 33-year old has made several appearances in the top flight of English football, the Premier League, for clubs Everton and Fulham. Heitinga has also represented his country; having over 85 caps, he played for the Dutch national team in two World Cups and three European Championships. February of this year marked his retirement from professional football.
