Celebration: The Beatles Story have the Best 25th anniversary party

Celebration: The Beatles Story have the Best 25th anniversary party

On Tuesday, 1st May 1990 the Albert Dock became home to a new visitor attraction, the Beatles Story. Since that moment 4,000,000 people from over 100 countries have visited our award-winning attraction. To mark our 25th anniversary we invited a mixture of people to the Beatles Story, Albert Dock's replica Cavern Club, some who played a big part in the story of our exhibition and also some who played a big part in the story of The Beatles' career.

Faces: Many guests found photographs of themselves

During the event Beatles Story creators Mike and Bernie Byrne spoke to the guests about how their dream became a reality. Mike Byrne said: "I went to the tourism board and I said, 'Look, we've got to have a Beatles exhibition in Liverpool. We just have to. We want to make an exhibition where members of the public, come in and go back in time."

Creators: Mike and Bernie Byrne

Guests enjoyed our video celebrating 25 years of the Beatles Story which took them back to 1990 and showed them the Beatles Story's story. The big surprise of the night was the entertainment. Friend of the Beatles Story and former Beatle Pete Best took to Cavern Stage once more to perform with his band, The Pete Best Band. Pete played a selection of songs that he had played with John, Paul and George during the early 1960s.

Beat: Pete Best and his band

The Beatles Story's Martin King said: "As we celebrate our 25 year milestone it is important to acknowledge the importance of each member of staff that has contributed towards making the Beatles Story a success." "We would like to thank you all, thank our staff and here is to the next 25 years."
