Miserable Faith: Chinese rock band visit Liverpool

One of China’s renowned rock bands, Miserable Faith (Tong Ku De Xin Yang), has visited The Beatles Story, Liverpool in order to learn more about their musical icons.

The band were in the city to perform at local music festival Sound City and they spent time at the attraction to follow the journey of the fab four from the early days right through to their solo careers.

Miserable Faith, which formed in 1999, has released six albums and have been incredibly influenced by the music of The Beatles.

The band has a diverse sound comprised of a number of different genres including hip hop, reggae and world music.

Whilst at the attraction, the band followed The Beatles’ rise to the height of Beatlemania before concluding their tour with a poignant moment at the John Lennon Imagine piano.

The band took advantage of the attraction’s newly upgraded audio guides, which guide visitors through the attraction with a Chinese language spoken commentary providing additional background and information about the fab four.

Zhang Jing, Miserable Faith’s Bass player, said: "If you love The Beatles, this is a must visit attraction. If you don't know too much about the band, you can see the power of changing the world through music. The Beatles Story shows the original charm of Rock & Roll!"

Diane Glover of The Beatles Story said: "The incredible influence of The Beatles prevails and we are delighted to welcome such influential musicians to the attraction.

"Liverpool is the band’s hometown and annually a growing number of people make the trip to the city to learn more about the origins of the band and it is great to have been able to share the band’s story with Miserable Faith."

Liverpool is a UNESCO Creative City of Music, recognising the significance of music to Liverpool’s heritage. As the birthplace of The Beatles, Liverpool continues to enjoy a vibrant and diverse music scene.

The band completed their tour of the city with a trip to the iconic Cavern Club and a recording session at Parr Street Studios. Miserable Faith continue their UK tour, heading to Oxford and London over the coming weeks.
