The Beatles Story along with other key Liverpool visitor economy businesses are heading to Los Angeles this week to spread the word about the city and encourage more visits from California.
The visit aims to take advantage of interest in Liverpool FC, who are playing in the 2016 International Champions Cup in the state. The reds play Chelsea and AC Milan, in Pasadena and Santa Clara respectively.
Football is growing in popularity in the US, and Liverpool and Everton are especially popular due to links through players (such as Steven Gerrard, Tim Howard and Landon Donovan).
The high-profile tournament is the perfect opportunity for representatives of Liverpool tourism to show there is much more to the city than football.
The group includes The Beatles Story, Cavern City Tours, Marketing Liverpool and Liverpool FC itself.
They will host several influential travel trade buyers for the match, giving a presentation on Liverpool and encouraging them to consider the city as a destination for their clients.
They will also meet with key journalists and VisitBritain’s US office to discuss priorities for the upcoming year.
