Testimonials

“
The placement has influenced my future plans because I got to properly experience what different roles do and how they co-ordinate with each other to create a lively and smooth running business. I also got to see the positive impact the company has on the community and the families that choose to come here.
“
I believe I have improved my communication skills through speaking to different cultures, which has helped me to develop my communication and teamwork skills. I have learned how to work in a fast-paced environment.
“
I think I am most proud of being able to confidently interact with people who come in and give them guidance on the audio guides. I am also proud of being able to try and understand each department to my best ability and attempt to ask good questions to expand my knowledge on the company.
“
I am most proud of overcoming the language barrier when some of the guests were trying to get the audio guides.
“
I think I improved adaptability skills the most because I was adapting in different roles in the company in a short amount of time and communication skills by always asking questions and helping customers. As well as listening skills, through listening and understanding staff members.
“
I enjoyed experiencing a working environment and making friends with people to develop my communication skills. I enjoyed learning marketing and HR and merchandising the most as it showed me what these jobs entail.
“
I am most proud of my communication skills because I could never talk to anyone - but now that I have done work experience here, it has greatly improved.
“
I enjoyed admissions the most, giving out audio guides and being on the door. Everyone who worked with us was incredibly friendly!
“
I really enjoyed seeing each department here and how they play an important role. It was really interesting to see the security aspect, especially all the checks and I found seeing all the fire exit paths really interesting. I also found the event planning interesting. Education was most likely my favourite aspect, as I found it really enjoyable to see the Discovery Zone activities and how they organise school trips. However, being introduced to the museum and going through the exhibition on the first day was the most exciting to me, being a massive Beatles fan myself. Helping with the green screen was also really enjoyable. Each of the staff were so friendly and chatty - they made the experience much more enjoyable!
“
My social skills have definitely improved, especially through making conversation with all of the staff. I've also improved my ability to cope under stress, especially after working in the café.
