This black velvet jacket was a favourite of John's and he can be seen wearing it in the 1971 film Imagine.
It was originally purchased for John from London boutique Take Six by a promotions man at Apple Tony King.
The jacket came up for auction at the annual Beatles Convention in 2000 and was purchased by Liverpool born actor Jack Marsden.
This jacket has been kindly loaned to the exhibition by Jack, who hopes that it can stay in Liverpool for all the fans of the Beatles.
See this and many other great items of memorabilia only at the Beatles Story, Liverpool.
This festive season, The Beatles Story will be echoing John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 ‘WAR IS OVER! If You Want It’ Christmas campaign, as well as shining a spotlight on UK-based charity War Child’s work. With peace at the top of their Christmas list this year, the Liverpool attraction will raise awareness and encourage donations to the charity that works “to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict.”
