On 25 June 1967, The Beatles appeared on ‘Our World’, the world’s first live television satellite link-up, performing their new song ‘All You Need Is Love’ written especially for the occasion.
John Lennon wrote the song just three days prior to the performance, using a message that was simple enough for viewers around the world to understand and which encapsulated the spirit of the 1967 ‘Summer of Love’.
The Beatles’ message of love and peace was broadcast to approximately 400 million people across the world, in 5 continents and 25 countries.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this momentous occasion we are encouraging fans to share their own ‘All You Need Is Love’ message, helping to spread the love across the globe, no matter what language.
