International Beatleweek Festival returns to Liverpool for the final time this year and organisers Cavern City Tours have put together a great line-up for us all to enjoy.
This year’s event will celebrate 50 years of The Beatles’ ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ album and ‘All You Need Is Love’ TV broadcast. It will also recognise 50 years since the death of Beatles manager Brian Epstein and 60 years since John first met Paul at Woolton Village fete.
Special guests include American journalist Larry Kane, who covered The Beatles’ American tours, Ken Scott of EMI, comedian Neil Innes, Julia Baird, photographer Tom Murray and Beatles Hairdresser, Leslie Cavendish.
This year’s line-up will also include some ‘fab’ Beatles and 60s musical acts including The Bootleg Beatles, The Overtures and the original Quarrymen. It’s going to be a must see for any Beatles fan!
Fans travelling to Liverpool must also make sure to visit The Beatles Story to view the original gates to Strawberry Field. The gates are on display for a limited time only in order to raise much-needed awareness and funds for the Salvation Army’s plans to re-develop the site which inspired John Lennon to write the iconic song.
