Former Beatles hairdresser, Leslie Cavendish will be at The Beatles Story's Fab4 Cafe on Saturday 26th August, 10:30am - 1pm, to sign copies of his new book ‘The Cutting Edge: The Story of the Beatles’ Hairdresser Who Defined an Era’.
‘The Cutting Edge: The Story of the Beatles’ Hairdresser Who Defined an Era’ is Leslie’s story about his rise to become one of London’s most sought after hairdressers in just five short years. Alongside this, the book tells the story of what life was like inside one of the most famous offices in the world, Apple Corps and what it was like to work with The Beatles during one of the most in demand periods of their careers.
Leslie’s salon in the basement of ‘Dandies Fashions’ on the Kings Road amassed an array of clientele who were not only just The Beatles but other incredibly famous artists of the era such as Keith Moon, The Bee Gees and James Hunt, the F1 world champion.
Allowing the reader to be submerged into London in the sixties and early seventies, the book is a fascinating story of the Cultural Revolution emerging at this time and how The Beatles were spearheading both music and fashion worldwide.
‘The Cutting Edge: The Story of the Beatles’ Hairdresser Who Defined an Era’ will be available to buy on the day at The Beatles Story’s Fab4 Store. This is a free event so tickets are not required.
