Comic Con: Stars Visit The Beatles Story

It was a busy weekend for The Beatles Story, as fans and special guests of Liverpool’s Comic Con visited the award-winning attraction to learn more about the Fab Four.

Among those to enjoy the exhibition were American actors Melissa Joan Hart, Beth Broderick and Jenna Leigh Green, best known for their roles as Sabrina, Aunt Zelda and Libby Chessler in Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Chris Owen, who played Chuck Sherman aka ‘The Sherminator’ in the American Pie films, Tami Stronach, famous as the Childlike Empress in The Neverending Story and voice actors Jen Cohn, Lucie Pohl, Monica Rial, Jamie Marchi, J Michael Tattum and Brandon McInnis also visited the attraction.

Whilst exploring the exhibition, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, Melissa reflected on her own experience around crowds of screaming fans - a glimpse into what Beatlemania must have been like for the band:

“I remember being on a tour bus with the Backstreet Boys in Australia and the streets were lined with thousands of fans holding banners and there were flags hanging from the buildings. Later, they even pulled me up on stage and I could barely hear myself think! It’s crazy to imagine that’s how the Beatles would have felt during almost every show.”

Speaking about her visit, Melissa added: “I've spent lots of time filming in Wales in the past but this is my first time in Liverpool and I’m enjoying it so far. My favourite Beatles song has got to be ‘Twist and Shout’- it’s so fun!

Karyn Parsons, who played Hilary Banks in 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air also took the time to walk through the exhibition and browse the Fab4 Store.

A huge Beatles fan, she found it almost impossible to pick her favourite member of the band:

"My sister and I argue all the time over which Beatle is our favourite, one day we think John, the next it’s George. It’s so hard to decide, we love all four of them!"

Karyn was more assured about her preferred song though, declaring ‘A Day in the Life’ her favourite hit by the Fab Four.
