Beatles in Korean: a new language introduced

The Beatles Story, Liverpool has added a Korean language option to its multimedia guides, becoming the eleventh language now available at the award-winning attraction.

The Beatles Story welcomed record visitor numbers for the fourth year running in 2017, with over 300,000 visitors attending the attraction from 80 different international countries.

To cater for its largely international audience, the top attraction offers multimedia guides in a range of languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

The Beatles Story becomes the first attraction in the North West of England to offer a Korean language option and outlines the attraction’s commitment to ensuring that its growing number of international visitors have a valuable and memorable experience.

Visitors from Korea will now be able to hear the story unfold though complimentary ‘Living History’ multimedia guides, featuring commentary, interviews and bonus material; all beautifully narrated (with subtitles) by John Lennon’s half-sister, Julia Baird. Korean becomes the first language to be introduced at The Beatles Story since Brazilian Portuguese back in 2011.

In September 2017, a representative from The Beatles Story visited South Korea as guest speaker at the country’s first ever Beatles festival, which took place in the city of Dongduncheon.

The festival was organised by The Beatles Fan Club in Korea, whose president, Seo KangSeok, became one of The Beatles Story’s 25 worldwide ambassadors following a competition held for its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Dave Milner, Marketing and PR Executive at The Beatles Story, who attended the Beatles festival in Korea, said: “There are many Beatles fans in South Korea, and there are many Koreans travelling to the UK. We hope that the introduction of a Korean language multimedia guide will encourage more of them to visit The Beatles Story and the North West of England, to explore our fantastic Liverpool-based attractions.”

He continued: “I’d like to thank our Korean ambassador, Seo KangSeok for the invitation and making it possible for me to make this very special announcement in front of Beatles fans at South Korea’s first ever Beatles festival.”
