The Beatles Story and The Jacaranda ‘Come Together’ to announce an exciting Eurovision line-up

Two of Liverpool’s iconic Beatles locations have teamed up to celebrate local music and deliver an exciting line up of free live music events in the lead up to Eurovision 2023.

The Jacaranda has a rich history of developing artists and providing them with a platform to perform in Liverpool. This ethos helped to develop The Beatles in their early career, and is still maintained to this day for up-and-coming acts. The Beatles Story is proud to ‘Come Together’ with The Jacaranda to provide this support to local musicians at their attraction, which is located on the doorstep of Eurovision’s M&S Bank Arena.

Locals, music fans and Eurovision pilgrims are invited to enjoy free live music every day during the Eurovision period at The Beatles Story’s Fab4 Café. You’re invited to support and celebrate local music in a line-up of events curated in partnership with The Jacaranda.

Visitors can expect to hear a diverse line-up of acts, with some Beatles and Eurovision classics thrown in. The free events will be hosted at The Fab4 Café, which evokes the spirit of the 1960s, and is located at The Beatles Story at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock.

The award-winning attraction is excited to be working in partnership with the legendary Jacaranda club in Liverpool, as it is steeped in Beatles history, and hosted some of band’s earliest performances.

The Jacaranda Club was opened in 1958 by Allan Williams, The Beatles' first manager – it holds many connections to The Beatles but perhaps most importantly it was the first place that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best played together as The Beatles in 1960.

Veso Mihaylov, Head of Bookings at Jacaranda Group, said "The Jacaranda Club is operating pretty much in the same way today as it was in the 1950s when it was managed by Allan Williams, The Beatles' first manager. Many places in Liverpool have used the legacy of The Beatles to change the way they operate, and rightly so, but we have used it to simply validate the importance in what we do – giving young bands, like The Beatles, a chance."

Mary Chadwick, General Manager of The Beatles Story said “we are very excited to be working collaboratively with The Jacaranda to support Liverpool’s rich and diverse current music scene in celebration of Eurovision. The Jacaranda plays an important role in developing the careers of aspiring musicians, and contributed to the success of The Beatles in their early days when the club was owned by the band’s first manager Allan.”

The Beatles Story will welcome all ages to these events – and there will be free, fun Eurovision-themed activities in the attraction’s Discovery Zone.

These events are not ticketed and are completely free to attend – simply turn up any day between the 1st and 14th May 2023 to experience Liverpool’s local music scene with us.

The sets will start at 11am and 2pm on each of the days, and you can see who's playing each set here: https://www.beatlesstory.com/events/
